ADHD coaching has rapidly become recognized as one of the treatment options for kids and adults with attention deficit disorder (ADHD).  Recent research studies as well, have verified the efficacy of coaching for this population.

 

This talk will introduce the key concepts presented in  “The Disorganized Mind.”  A coaching model and, the A-N-S-W-E-R  will be introduced as coaching tools for clients with ADHD or, for any client who struggles with prioritizing, time management and following through on desired actions. Emphasis will be placed on the role each core competency plays in coaching this particular population-Setting the Foundation Communicating Effectively Facilitating Learning and Results.

 

Objectives:

Review basic symptoms of ADHD

Introduce a model for coaching people with ADHD

Understand the application of the core comps in coaching this population

Demonstrate the A-N-S-W-E-R as a tool for coaching

 

 

Nancy's Bio

NANCY A. RATEY, Ed.M., ABDA, MCC, SCAC, BCC,  is a strategic life coach specializing in

coaching professionals with attention deficit disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities (LD).

She earned her master’s degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. She has been active in the field of learning disabilities (LD) and attention deficit disorder (ADHD), coaching for over 30 years and is internationally recognized as a pioneer in the field of ADHD coaching. Nancy has been awarded several recognitions including one from the president of Harvard, has testified before a Congressional Committee on behalf of people with LD and, was invited to serve on a taskforce by the US Presidents Committee on Employment for Persons with Disabilities. She is Past President of the National Attention Deficit Disorder Association and has served on numerous Boards.

 

In addition to her private coaching practice, Nancy lectures at conferences and symposiums worldwide. She has made significant contributions in writing, including contributing chapters to academic texts, popular texts, co-authoring 3 books and her latest book, published by St Martin’s Press is "The Disorganized mind.”  In addition,  Nancy has been featured in The NY Times Business Section, NY Times Magazine, Newsday, Wall Street Journal, Wired, Forbes, WebMD, The Boston Globe, Cosmo, Vogue, and has appeared on PBS, ABC, CBS and NPR.

 

Besides maintaining her international virtual coaching and consulting practice and she spends time with her 96-year-old mother and their two Jack Russells in Columbus, Ohio.
