Topic: "Coaching Clients with ADHD: What Every Coach Should Know"
Friday, February 27
12 pm - 1:30 pm ET
Via Zoom
Approved for TBD CCE's

Coaching Clients with ADHD: What Every Coach Should Know is a practical, coach-focused training designed to help you confidently support neurodivergent clients while staying fully aligned with ICF Core Competencies.
Many coaches encounter clients who struggle with follow-through, organization, focus, or emotional regulation—despite strong motivation and insight. This program helps you understand why these patterns show up and, more importantly, how to adapt your coaching approach to work with the client’s brain rather than against it.
You’ll learn how ADHD and executive function challenges commonly appear in coaching sessions, how shame and masking impact progress, and how to recognize patterns without diagnosing or pathologizing. The training provides concrete, immediately applicable strategies for structuring sessions, asking more effective questions, supporting working memory, and co-creating accountability systems that actually work.
A core feature of the program is the P.I.N.C.H. motivational framework (Play, Interest, Novelty, Competition/Connection, Hurry-Up), which you’ll use to design action plans that reduce activation barriers and increase follow-through.
Throughout the training, ethical boundaries and scope of practice are emphasized, including when and how to make appropriate referrals. Participants leave with practical tools, increased confidence, and at least one neuro-informed coaching adaptation they can apply immediately—creating greater psychological safety, stronger engagement, and more sustainable client growth.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Describe how ADHD and executive function challenges may present in coaching sessions and impact the coaching relationship.
2. Identify at least three strategies for adapting their coaching approach (such as session structure, questioning techniques, or action planning methods) to better support clients with different processing styles.
3. Explain the P.I.N.C.H. framework (Play, Interest, Novelty, Competition/Connection, Hurry-up) and when to consider applying it with clients who struggle with traditional action planning.
4. Recognize when a client's challenges may exceed the scope of general coaching and know how to initiate an appropriate referral conversation.
